Common Ties is introducing a new section on their website and podcast called 20 Questions. They are encouraging people to share their answers in a form of very short stories/snippets or poetry. They pay a nominal fee for accepted answers.

This project sounds like a lot of fun.

This is David from Common Ties. Thanks for the post. I wanted to give a little more detail if that is OK. Each answer will be paired with artwork either from the writer or from an artist who finds the answer on our Orphans page. (the later activity is like the New Yorker captions contest only that people supply the art to go with the caption, not the other way around). We will start posting artwork/answers in early February but we are actively purchasing answers and artwork now.

Good Luck Doug! Don’t forget the little people when you become rich and famous.

David, thanks for stopping by. Feel free to email me at auriacortes AT gmail.com with other publishing opportunities. I would like to post more opportunities for my visitors.

Doug, good for you! Your writing style is engaging. I’m sure your submission is impressive. I’ll work on mine next week. Perhaps even submit artwork as well.

thanks rainlillie … riches and fame are highly unlikely, so no need to worry there!

and thanks, too, linda, for your kind remark. impressive, hardly, i’m sure. there’s a 50 word limit, that’s tough for my long-winded self. it’s more haikuish than anything, although i don’t remember exactly the rules of proper haikuing. i’ll do some more 20-questions later, it’s fun. glad you pointed it out!

okay, i finally submitted an answer. i submitted it without artwork because it took me this long to follow through on writing fifty words that i didn’t want to waste more time.

the website guidelines indicate that i should be hearing something within four weeks if they are interested. if they aren’t, i will hear nada.

    update: i submitted another answer.
