At the Podium: Erin McKean - Redefining the dictionary
I enjoy reading the dictionary. My ex used to freak out when I read the dictionary for fun. He thought I was bored. I wasn’t. After years of being together, he got used to walking in the house and see me laying on the floor with a dictionary in hand.
Therasuas’ (spelling ?) are enjoyable to read as well.
Me TOO! My co-workers used to think I was daft. LOL A Thesaurus is enjoyable to read also. Or, Thesauruses. I love words.
Another dictionary reader here. I started when I was seven and have yet to be bored with it.
I was a reporter for 20 years and I found if I was stuck for ideas or having trouble with a story I’d wander through a dictionary.
Hmm, you make have just given me a post idea.
Thanks.
P.S. I got here from AW originally and have been a lurk-reader for a few months now.
This is exactly why others think us writers are crazy. Me I read This Day in History. Same thing, they all think me crazy.
Steve
Diane, I can totally see you as a word lover.
Leah, don’t be such a stranger. Comment more often.
Steve, I’m going to buy This Day in History. I love the concept.
This day in history–ME TOO! Makes me feel connected, grounded, and in the loop.
Like Steve I, too, always know what happened on “this day in history.” It’s on my home page, always interesting. Maybe it’s a Davis thing, I’m a Davis on the mom’s side here.
I don’t read the dictionary, but I do have a love for and read the therasuases (that one made me laugh)
