Courageous Women Wear Glasses Well

Published by auria cortes at 7:28 am under Girls Who Wear Glasses

bansfield.JPGFrom Wikipedia: In April 2003, in a speech at Kansas State University, Banfield raised concerns regarding media coverage of the conflict in Iraq. She also blasted “cable news operators who wrap themselves in the American flag and go after a certain target demographic”, specifically naming Fox News Channel as an example. According to a New York Times article, her speech angered NBC management who rebuked her and lowered her profile. She was fired in 2004.

I guess its cool she took a stand, but where is she now? I hope not flipping burgers! Sometimes if you have nothing nice to say, you shouldnt say anything at all. Maybe instead of blasting people she couldve done an opposing interview. You get more with sugar than with salt…unless you have tequila!!! LOL

I have tried contacts and it felt as if I had a piece of hair in my eye. I never got use to them. So I wear my glasses and I love them!

I wore contacts to a Skid Row concert. The lights from the stage made my eyes tear. Everyone thought I was crying because of Skid Row. That was embarassing. Skid Row isn’t a band one sheds tears over. I never wore contacts after that night. I own about eight pair of glasses. All different colors and tinted shades. I’m the female version of Bono. Except I’m not that cool.

I’ve always loved Ashlee Banfield! Hated it when she got fired from MSNBC. Huge loss for them, IMO. Smart, intelligent, outspoken, and bespectacled. Gotta love her.
