When someone smiles at you, do you smile back?
Yes. I usually am smiling anyway because I don’t have a pleasant resting face.

Soup
Describe the flooring in your home.  Do you have carpet, hardwood, vinyl, a mix?

Wood and I love it.

Salad
Write a sentence with only 5 words, but all of the words have to start with the first letter of your first name.

Again and again Amber abides.

Main Course
Do you know anyone whose life has been touched by adoption?

In HS I was friends with a Vietnamese girl in HS. A white family adopted her when she was four. Once we were in a group talking and an overweight girl asked us how we kept in shape. I mentioned running track and the Vietnamese girl (sorry, can’t remember her name) said that everyone in her family is naturally thin so it’s in her genes. She turned to me for corroboration because I met her family. I did back up her but couldn’t stop thinking about the fact that she forgot she was adopted. She didn’t have the same genes as her mother, father, or brother. She must have felt some special kind of love all her life.

Dessert
Name 2 blue things.

Ocean and sky. Bet lots of people will write the same thing.

I loved that video you posted. Heartwarming indeed. I did think of sky, but when I looked out and saw grey, I changed my mind!

Great feast! I’m having fun reading everyone’s Salad. How interesting they all are. I had a hard time with mine, “K”.

    LOVE the video!!!

It’s wonderful reading all the adoption stories.

Come on over and feast with me.

Play-play. Maybe I do and maybe I don’t, depends on how I perceive their intent. (Auria’s answer LOL–I so get that.)

Carpet/vinyl..an apt. You have wood in NYC! And you say you aren’t cool.

    Does death deem drama divine?

My 2nd cousin is adopted. She and no one more so, has helped my mother and great aunt through their last years of turmoil. I have not spoken to her in years, just email, but of all th “blood” relatives who could have helped–she stepped up. She was older than me as kids and always so kind to me when others were not. A VERY special person. When I posted a photo of her and her daughter on my blog, readers commented ,” It is so obvious you are related, you look so much alike.” LOL

My great aunt and my lover’s eyes.

Thanks so much for that video - there’s something so precious about adoption! When we lived in Ethiopia we had a lot of friends who adopted and we almost did - but decided to go the natural route to parenthood instead.

Yep, I always smile back. I’m a smiley person.

Mix between carpet and laminate in some areas

    Can cats crawl creatively?

My uncle always used to tell my dad that one of them was adopted, and it had to be him (my uncle) because, “they wouldn’t have picked you.”

    2 blue things: my eyes!

I smile for the same reason you do. I think I look too severe if I don’t.

I have wide-planked wood all over and I love it.

    Willie went wading without wellies.

    I’m adopted, so yes!

My daughter’s eyes and her school uniform.

    That was fun.

I can’t help myself! And it feels great, too!

    Soup
Describe the flooring in your home. Do you have carpet, hardwood, vinyl, a mix? Icky grey carpet, and terrible lino in the kitchen. I think the previous owner made an effort to drop every glass jar in her fridge and every can in her panrty. And don’t get me started on the knife marks in front of the dishwasher…

    Salad
Write a sentence with only 5 words, but all of the words have to start with the first letter of your first name.

    Angela admires artistic albino alligators.

My sister-in-law has adopted three children, all of which came from homes with emotional, alcohol and drug abuse. It is fantastic to see them shake off the emotional baggage of their previous lives and how the potential in the emerges. Kids are so adaptable at this age, and show us all that no matter where you come from, you can achieve great things.

    Dessert

    My pj’s and blueberries.

I tend to avoid looking at people, so if they smile I’d be unaware anyway. If I have to, then yes I’ll smile back.

    Soup
Describe the flooring in your home. Do you have carpet, hardwood, vinyl, a mix?
    Hardwood throughout.

    Salad
Write a sentence with only 5 words, but all of the words have to start with the first letter of your first name.
    Donald Duck definitely did Daisy.

Do you know anyone whose life has been touched by adoption?
Yes, a friend who when she found out slashed her wrists. Years ago.

    Dessert
    Name 2 blue things.
My mood as of late, and the mold on something I pulled out of the refrigerator Wednesday night (trash day Thursday.)
