My 11 year old would love this book! Thank you for a great interview. Getting to know the author makes reading their books more personal.

I adored Alex and the Ironic Gentleman and think this interview Rocks! I too read the phantom tollboth again recently and I really enjoyed it all over again...
I think you both make a great point- a writer much read the genre they write.

I've never read The Phantom Tollbooth. At an early age, I began reading true crime books. I went straight from Curious George to Ann Rule. :-)

I haven't finished reading the entire interview yet, I have to go back and read the rest, but got as far as Adrienne mentioning "The Phantom Tollbooth" and became so excited had to page down and leave a comment post haste!! That is one of my favorite books of all time, and I had not thought about that one in such a long time! I read that for the first time in 6th grade, and several readings since! Heck, I think the last time I read it was probably no more than 10 years ago, which would mean that I was toting the book around at 35 years of age. Some of the best books are for children, or young adults, in my opinion. "A Wrinkle in Time" and subsequent books in that series by Madeleine L'Engle are also outstanding, even now as a middle-aged adult. Okay, back to the interview. As far as I know, I'll now find out that Adrienne was not a fan of the tollbooth after all, but I get carried away sometimes.
